Blanca Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, and, as its name implies, it’s a white sand beach with crystal clear turquoise waters and gentle surf, which is surrounded by lush vegetation typical of dry tropical forest located in the Gulf of Papagayo in Guanacaste province.
Blanca Beach is a quiet beach less than 1 km long, ideal for taking a bath, practice some diving, snorkeling or simply relaxing in the sun and enjoying this paradise. Blanca beach, along with Virador Beach (located on the opposite side and a few meters) form a narrow natural bridge that joins Punta Mala, also from the shore you can see the fascinating landscape of Panama Beach. Although Blanca beach is located inside the Four Seasons Hotel, it has no facilities or services to visitors.
Getting to Blanca Beach in Liberia, Guanacaste:
From San José
Drive north to Puntarenas and then follow the Pan-American highway until you reach Liberia. There, turn right, continue for 8 km (5 miles), turn right at the DO IT Center towards the Four Seasons Hotel and follow the road for about 24 km (15 miles) until you reach the visitors parking lot of the hotel. To get to Blanca beach, you need to take a private hotel minibus to take you to the start of a trail that goes to the beach, where you should go up and down 750 steps. This route requires a total of 5 to 6 hours from San José.
From Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR)
Drive south to Santa Cruz for 8 km (5 miles), turn right at the DO IT Center towards the Four Seasons Hotel and follow the road for about 24 km (15 miles) until you reach the visitors parking lot of the hotel. To get to Blanca beach, you need to take a private hotel minibus to take you to the start of a trail that goes to the beach, where you should go up and down 750 steps.
By bus
There are no buses that to Blanca beach, however you can take a bus from the route San José – Liberia, which takes about 5 hours (Pulmitan, +506 2222-1650) and then you can rent a car and drive or take a taxi to Blanca beach, which takes about 40 minutes. We recommend buying the ticket the day before to ensure your space.
By plane:
You can also take a flight from the Juan Santamaria Airport to the Daniel Oduber airport at Liberia, either with Sansa or Aerobell Airlines every day. From here you can rent a car and drive or take a taxi to Blanca beach, which takes about 40 minutes.
