Blanca beach, as its name implies (blanca is the spanish word for white), is a beautiful white sand beach with crystal blue waters, which is part of Santa Rosa National Park in the province of Guanacaste.

Blanca Beach is a remote beach with almost untouched natural beauty, ideal for a vacation of rest and relaxation away from it all, enjoying its exotic landscape by taking a swim in its calm waters, making walking along the coast, or, for those seeking a little more action, you can practice water sports such as diving, snorkeling or kayaking.

Getting to Blanca Beach in La Cruz, Guanacaste:

From San José

Drive north to Puntarenas and then follow the Pan-American highway towards Liberia. Once in Liberia, continue along the same highway for about 40km (25 miles), turn left towards Cuajiniquil, and continue for 15 km (9 miles) over a dirt road until you reach the entrance to the Murcielago station from Santa Rosa National Park. To get to Blanca Beach, you must first report yourself to the ranger and continue for about 17 km (10 miles) on a dirt road until you get to Blanca Beach. To get to Blanca beach a 4×4 vehicle is required, since the last 20km of road are in very poor condition. This route requires a total of 6 to 7 hours from San José.

From Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR)

Drive northeast towards Liberia. Once in Liberia, continue along the same highway for about 40km (miles), turn left towards Cuajiniquil, and continue for 15 km (9 miles) over a dirt road until you reach the entrance to the Murcielago station from Santa Rosa National Park. To get to Blanca Beach, you must first report yourself to the ranger and continue for about 17 km (10 miles) on a dirt road until you get to Blanca Beach. To get to Blanca beach a 4×4 vehicle is required, since the last 20km of road are in very poor condition.

By bus

There are no buses that get to Blanca beach, however you can take a bus from the route San José – Liberia, which takes about 5 hours (Pulmitan, +506 2222-1650) and then take another bus from the route Liberia – Cuajiniquil (at González García bus terminal) which takes about 1 hour. From Cuajiniquil you can rent a car and drive or take a taxi to Blanca beach, which takes about 2 hours. We recommend buying the ticket the day before to save your space.

By plane

You can also take a flight from the Juan Santamaria Airport to the Daniel Oduber airport at Liberia, either with Sansa or Aerobell Airlines every day. From here you can rent a car and drive or take a taxi to Blanca beach, which takes about 3 hours.
