Tin Jo Restaurant offers a wide variety of Asian dishes, with specialty in the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam and India, in an environment that reflects the diverse cultures of the region. It is located in the “cultural San Jose downtown” surrounded by theaters, museums and galleries. Tin Jo has the most interesting vegetarian menu in the city, though not known as a vegetarian restaurant, its cuisine is known for its exquisite dishes.

The Tin Jo Restaurant opened its doors in 1972 with 12 tables, until the General Hon’s oldest daughter Maria, (Yin Yin was her name, but changed to be more “tica”) in the company of her husband Robert, took over the restaurant since 1994. That is why today the Tin Jo is the expression of a smooth evolution from the days of General Hon, to what today is a place where guests feel “spoiled” while their senses are taken to other worlds.

Indisputable, the Tin Jo Restaurant it’s an amazing place to eat, with top quality menu, excellent service and a very beautiful and colorful atmosphere that will transport you to the East without a doubt.

Tin Jo Restaurant is located on 11 Street, between 6th and 8th Avenue, in front of the Lucho Barahona Theater (former Royal Cinema), or, using the famous “Casa del Tornillo” (House of the screw) as a reference, 100 meters east and 25 meters north.
