Maxis is the most famous restaurant in Manzanillo, and since it’s located smack dab in the middle of town you really would have to be blind to miss it. This balcony restaurant which overlooks the sea attracts travelers from all over the world for large platters of tender.

Maxi’s menu offers a wide range of options with plentiful and tasty portions to suit all pockets providing authentic Caribbean cuisine, from grilled seafood, whole red snappers, to Caribbean-style lobsters, chicken and steaks. It also serves veggie grills and casados, which are a Costa Rican typical dish, as well as the Rice’n Beans, which is the local traditional plate that you should not miss, either with fish, steak or chicken, all served with patacones (round smashed green plantain) and the traditional salad.

Maxi’s Restaurant has a truly Caribbean atmosphere, with reggae music, nice breeze, great view, cool-beach vibe, makes it undoubtedly the perfect spot for a meal or a seaside beer. Also, on weekends, Maxi’s offers some live music and DJs cranking out everything from R&B to reggae roots, and of course it can turn into quite the party place when there is any futbol.
